Hello! My name is Amy Pierce. I’m the Marketing Associate for Main Street Software, Inc., located in Landisville, PA (http://www.mssinc.com). I started working at Main Street Software, Inc. at the beginning of 2010 after a being unemployed from a major layoff. I have my Associates Degree in Specialized Technology for Drafting and Design, so I was jumping in to a new field that I had no knowledge of… and come to find out that I really enjoy it! So now that I’m learning the ropes of many things in marketing and sales, I’ve decided to venture out and start a blog for the company. Here’s a little history about Main Street Software, Inc. –
Main Street Software, Inc. was started in 1984 by Robert and Valerie Aubry. Selling home computers, building clones, selling off the shelf software, becoming certified with HP/Compaq, selling one of the first 386 computers on the East Coast, providing solutions for hundreds of accounting clients, and to this day continuing to sell, service, and support networks, servers, and workstations for small to medium size businesses. While they have not been exempt from challenging years, they have learned from their business coaches.
While most 21st century businesses can’t operate without computers, today’s business climate isn’t exempt from cut-backs and down-sizing. The key is to build and maintain a core base of clients that will help you weather the ebb and flow of the worldwide economic cycle. Businesses that learn to survive in the current market are going to come out of this slump ready to reap the benefits of economic growth.
